Looking Back at Another Year Gone By

Its December 2009. It seems like just a few weeks ago, we were all getting ready for Christmas 2008. Where has this year gone?

Lots of important things have happened this year. First of all, Sean continues to grow like an uncontrolled weed. It seems almost impossible that he could already be 4 years old. He’s growing up so fast.

Second, I’ve gotten back into church. Thanks to Jeremy and the gang from Citychurch of Jonesboro for welcoming me with open arms. I really like the contemporary worship style and the way Jeremy’s sermons are always down to earth where “the common man” can understand them. When a preacher starts using a bunch of thees and thous, it just makes me feel under him and like I wasn’t meant to understand what he was saying. Jeremy might mention a thee or a thou, but then he explains what it actually means.

Third, I graduated college. After 6 long years of trying and contemplating dropping out a few times, I am now a bachelor of science in computer information technology. However, I’m still currently working for Walmart. I’ve been looking for jobs that actually need my degree, but nobody is hiring right now. I picked a horrible time in the economy to get in the job market. I just keep up hope that something will come along. If anybody hears of an opening, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Finally, I’ve started dating again. Those of you that know me know that for the past 5 years, I’ve been hung up on Niki, the mother of my son. After the last little fling she and I had, I decided I was done with that for good. Every time we’ve tried, it has ended badly. She and I just can’t get along. It sucks for Sean that he won’t have his parents together. But I think it would suck worse if we were together and constantly fighting.

The first girl I dated fell through pretty fast. I found out she was pretty much playing me against another guy and apparently the other guy won. Good riddence, I say to her.

The girl I’m dating now is named Micka. I’m sure most of you reading this have seen me posting about her on facebook lately. Micka is a great girl. She’s been through some hard times and some rough guys. I just want to show her that not all guys are bad. I’ve only been dating her officially for about a week now, but I can really see me and her going places. She’s so sweet and pretty and cute and all those other lovey-dovey words. I just adore her.

So all in all, it has been an eventful year. Sean continues to grow, I got back into church, I graduated college, and I got a new girlfriend. Here’s hoping that everyone else has had a good year as well. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Here’s to all the best in 2010.
